Before you join a Kundalini Yoga Class
A few important things to know so you can feel grounded, prepared, and supported.
For new kundalini yoga practitioners
BEGINNER vs NON-BEGINNER
Only the Beginners’ class is designed for beginners.
All other classes move at a steady pace and instruction assumes some familiarity
Beginners can take a non-beginner class with the caveat that there may be less explanation
Ideally you begin with a beginners’ class.
Then consider single classes or— better yet —a monthly membership.
Truth is, this practice can look different from class to class
as the focus of each class shifts.
The main part of the class is called a Kriya,
which is a set of exercises designed to hone in on:
- a particular bodily system
- an energetic system
- a state of mind
- an organ
- an emotion
- a specific energy center (chakra)
Each kriya is like its own recipe.
Each in service to your well-being.
I encourage you to commit to multiple classes to get a real feel for this practice.
Start with one though… and go from there.
Honor what works for you.
