Change is constant.
Your Energy is not.

IMG_0163.jpeg

Meaning, we don’t want our energy to stay fixed— it needs to move. It wants to FLOW and BREATHE

Indeed, without conscious awareness, our energy can get stuck for a multitude of reasons— our body’s response to triggers both overt and subtle, an alert  system often carrying emotional information before the mind has words for it.

Change is actually moving too, of course— we say its constant in that it’s always happening, from one second to the next. Change IS movement and constantly flowing. It is the highway of life, with a life of its own. And our personal energy might choose the slow lane or the fast, it might exit for rest and recreation— and sometimes we find ourselves on the shoulder stuck or stalled or simply driving on a slowly-leaking tire.

Are we aware? Are we conscious? Do we know what to do? Can we rely on and trust ourselves?

Kundalini Yoga is the Yoga of AWARENESS.

IF WE CANT STOP THINGS FROM CHANGING, WE HAVE A FEW CHOICES:

1. FIGHT IT - maybe we’ll win?

2. FLEE - can we outrun what we don’t want to see?

3. FREEZE - if we stay super still, maybe change will leave us alone?

4. FAWN OVER IT -  if I just stay agreeable, the change can’t hurt me, right?

5. FLOW WITH IT -  the obvious “desired” answer. Yes, but how?

Kundalini Yoga doesn’t eliminate these responses — it helps you recognize them sooner and restore choice.

It’s a practice--

Of elevating the vibration & frequency of your body.

Imagine the hum of a well-running engine.

Your energy requires care+maintenance.

Your body’s physical health,

Your mental-emotional health,

Your energetic health...

All play a role in your ability to

FLOW WITH CHANGE,

inevitable change.

This isn’t about perfection,

It’s about AWARENESS,

ALIGNMENT,

ACTION, and

AGILITY--

and a level of self-acceptance

and non-attachment.

Through Kundalini Yoga+Meditation (KYM), I guide you to this flow and help you:

  • expand your awareness

  • learn your alignment

  • balance your energy for “right action"

  • ease your agility for change

This practice supports your nervous system and inner capacity needed to listen wisely when life is asking for change. It strengthens your capacity to stay present with sensation — so emotions don’t have to escalate to be heard.

I welcome you to practice with me, with grace and gratitude.

CLOSE YOUR EYES FOR A MOMENT — and

BREATHE…..

Allow 3 deep breaths

through your nostrils, nice & slow.

Feel each inhale reach all the way into your belly, filling it like a balloon.

Each exhale lets the chest fall,

then pulls the navel in towards the spine.

3 of these— do it.

Then keep going and imagine

 FLOW  in your body.

What does flow feel like?

Keep feeling it.

Keep breathing.

And when you feel a bit more relaxed,

slowly come back to your present moment.

Open your eyes. And notice your body.

Many clients find that over time, this practice makes emotional clarity in daily life more accessible — both on and off the mat.

In their own words --

Taking Anna's classes has become such an essential part of my week, my overall well-being, my sense of contentment that Tuesday/Thursday at 10am is sacred time in my calendar, and nothing (almost) will prevent me from showing up. No matter what's going on in my life, I always feel better after class. Anna's teaching is insightful, makes connections with the rhythms of life and nature and the world, and challenges me to keep up with a practice that has opened me to new ways of caring for myself and others, coping with crazy times, and generally maintaining what the Buddhist scholar Joanna Macy calls "active hope".
